The family of Michael D Higgins, who live in Ballycar, have expressed their delight at his re-election for a second term as President.
President Higgins was officially re-elected on the first count of this weekend’s election, topping the poll in every constituency.

There were celebrations in Clare, and in particular in Ballycar where the future President attended the local national school, and later St. Flannan’s College in Ennis.
His nephew Michael Higgins says he’s looking forward to the next seven years.
