Clare County Council says hidden gems could be the secret to boosting the county’s tourism product into the future.

Council representatives were among 500 tourism leaders who have gathered this week to discuss ways of building on the 7 billion euro brought into to the island of Ireland through overseas tourism last year.

The local authority’s Head of Tourism admits challenges remain in the sector in terms of accommodation, but is assuring that the Clare Tourism Advisory Forum continues to write to Government to identify solutions.

Deirdre O’Shea says while increasing accommodation supply is a focus, unique experiences could inspire many more visitors to come to the county.
