Hospital trolleys

Nurses say local hospitals are the busiest in the country, as the week begins.

The latest figures from the INMO show 15 patients were left waiting on trolleys in the emergency department at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

The figure is 7 more than Ennis General, which is the second busiest hospital in the country, on a day when 42 patients were left waiting to be admitted nationally.

Elsewhere in the country, the highest trolley numbers were recorded at Cork University Hospital, where 4 patients were left waiting for beds.
