Specialist Team Holds First Meeting On Overcrowding At Region’s Main Hospital

The HSE has confirmed that a specialist team is working out an approach to alleviate chronic overcrowding at the region’s main hospital.

In late April, Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly asked that the Health Service deploy a ‘specialist team’ to University Hospital Limerick in light of record trolley numbers.

126 people were left waiting for a bed at the Dooradoyle facility on April 21st, the highest figure of any hospital since records began.
