Sharp Rise In Overcrowding At UHL

There’s been a sharp rise in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

According to the latest INMO figures, 28 people were left waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, all but 1 of those in the Emergency Department.

It’s the highest by far of any hospital in the country and is 12 more than the second busiest; the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

Overall, there were 72 patients on trolleys at hospitals across the country this morning.
