ShannonDoc still insists that its Miltown Malbay office will continue to operate as normal, despite a letter indicating that it plans to scale back services.
The letter, which was dated August 2nd and has been seen by Clare FM, was circulated by ShannonDoc and states it has no option but to run a reduced number of overnight centres from September 1st.
It specifically name-checked Miltown Malbay, as an area which would be affected, which is in contrast to claims from the Chair of ShannonDoc earlier this week, that there are no plans to close the West Clare night-time service.
But Dr Pat Morrissey insists the letter only refers to contingency plans and as has reiterated that as far as he is concerned, the service will continue to operate as normal in Miltown:
