Senior management within the UL Hospitals Group are to appear before the Oireachtas Health Committee next month, to address concerns raised in the damning HIQA report published last week.
It follows a request from Ennistymon-based Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway, with the fallout into the report following the health body’s unannounced inspection continuing.
Meanwhile, a Junior Health Minister says HIQA’s report into overcrowding at the region’s main hospital ‘provides an opportunity’ to refocus healthcare priorities in the Midwest.
