Senior HSE Official Says Discussions On Private Bed Capacity In Midwest For Winter Are Ongoing

A senior HSE official says conversations regarding the usage of private bed capacity in the Midwest for the winter are ongoing.

Health chiefs have been discussing their overall winter plan with members of the Oireachtas Health Committee, including representatives from Clare.

There are fears that a seasonal surge in capacity demand has already begun, with 87 people reported to be waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick yesterday morning by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
