Public Health Midwest Ask People To ‘Reduce Social Activity’ Amid Infection Spike

Health experts in this region are asking people to ‘reduce social activity’ where possible amid a spike in respiratory infections locally.

Public Health Midwest says it’s seen a ‘significant rise’ in the likes of COVID-19, flu and RSV this week, which is creating a ‘considerable negative impact’ on the health service.

There are 15 Covid outbreaks in long term care facilities in the region, while hundreds of cases of flu have been documented locally since Christmas Eve.
