Organisers of a major demonstration due to take place in Ennis this weekend have criticised the Government review as a “delay tactic” and a “waste of money”.

They’re calling for the Accident and Emergency unit to be re-opened at Ennis General Hospital to help ease chronic overcrowding in Dooradoyle.

They say the rising trolley numbers are evidence that the Government is in complete denial about the problems within the health system here, and is failing to acknowledge that increased investment in Ennis is the only answer.
