Patients Reassured That Midwest Hospitals Are Operating As Normal

The UL Hospitals Group is reassuring that pathways are in place to ensure that patients presenting at Midwest hospitals with acute conditions that aren’t related to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be treated.

The Emergency Department at University Hosptial Limerick, as well as the Local Injury Units at Ennis General, Nenagh and St John’s Hospitals are operating as normal, but people are being urged to contact their GP in the first instance.

As trolley numbers remain at record-breaking lows, concerns have emerged among the medical profession that some patients, particularly those with stroke symptoms, are afraid to present at hospitals.
