Overcrowding Continues To Spiral At UHL As Nurses Record 93 On Trolleys

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to spiral.

The latest figures from the INMO show there were 93 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 55 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 35 more than the next busiest facility; University Hospital Galway.

The nurses union says it brings to 426, the number of people who were waiting for beds at UHL this week.

The Oireachtas Health Committee is meeting to discuss hospital overcrowding next week, during which the INMO will provide their latest analysis to Government and Opposition politicians.
