Outpatient Waiting List At Region’s Hospitals More Than Double In Six Years

The Secretary General of the Irish Hospital Consultants Association says consultants emigrating to other parts of the world is continuing to cause vacancies in the Midwest.

The UL Hospitals Group has told Clare FM it currently has a total of 212 approved permanent consultant posts, 19 of which are vacant.

69,000 people are now waiting for care across hospitals in the region, a number that’s more than double that of six years ago.
