The new outpatients department for Ennis General Hospital is set to open next week.
The UL Hospitals Group says the facility, at Westpoint Retail Park on the Kilrush Road, will facilitate services currently operating at the hospital and allow for an expansion of outpatient needs into the future.
The new department, which has an equipping allocation of €900,000 for 2021, will allow for the relocation of services such as cardiac rehabilitation and radiology and general X-Ray later in the year.

More than 15,000 outpatient appointments occurred in Ennis in 2019, a number which fell to just over 11,000 last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
