Midwest Hospitals Campaign Criticise Clare Politicians For Being ‘Silent’ On Ennis ED Proposal

The Midwest Hospitals Campaign is criticising Clare politicians for what they say is ‘silence’ on proposals to bring Ennis’ emergency department back into full service.

It follows figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, which show University Hospital Limerick had the highest number of patients on trolleys ever recorded during the month of November this year since records began.

A HIQA report on UHL released in June noted the UL Hospitals Group is one of the few groups in the country with no model 3 facility, though Minister Stephen Donnelly appeared to rule out the possibility on a visit to Dooradoyle in October.
