The MidWest Hospital Campaign is ‘expecting to produce a result’ on the call for the emergency department at Ennis Hospital to be reopened after the group’s petition has progressed to the next stage.

The petition, which also calls for the ED’s at Nenagh and St. John’s hospitals to be reopened, has been heard by the Dáil Petitions Committee.

Members agreed to liaise with the Health Committee on the matter and backed calls for the Health Minister to appear before stakeholders to respond to the request from the 15,000 signees.
