The UL Hospitals Group says the majority of planned outpatient appointments and elective procedures will now go ahead today, after a national strike by hospital support staff was called off.
The strike was deferred last evening to allow for further talks.
It was due to lead to significant disruption in hospital services, but most of that has now been allayed.

However, a small number of scheduled colonoscopies at UHL have been rescheduled as there wasn’t enough time to make the necessary preparations for those procedures.
Discussions are due to get underway at the Workplace Relations Commission later this afternoon, but Siptu’s Paul Bell says multiple rounds of talks may be needed before agreement is reached:
