Majority Of Outpatient Appointments In Midwest To Go Ahead After Strike Called Off

The UL Hospitals Group says the majority of planned outpatient appointments and elective procedures will now go ahead today, after a national strike by hospital support staff was called off.

The strike was deferred last evening to allow for further talks.

It was due to lead to significant disruption in hospital services, but most of that has now been allayed.
