HSE Issues Apology In Advance Of HIQA Report Into St. Joseph’s Hospital

HIQA is to publish a report criticising aspects of care provided to residents of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ennis.

Ahead of the publication of the report – which is expected later today – HSE MId-West Community Healthcare has issued a formal apology to residents and families for not meeting the required standards.

The report follows an inspection conducted by HIQA in March, and Clare FM understands that while it will state that residents’ medical and healthcare needs were met, issues were identified with other aspects of patient care, and seperately with management systems at the facility.
