Fresh Spike In Overcrowding At UHL

Hospital trolleys

There’s been a fresh spike in overcrowding at the region’s main hospital.

There were 45 people awaiting a bed at University Hospital Limerick earlier, 25 of whom were on trolleys in the emergency department.

It’s nine more than the figure from yesterday and means the Dooradoyle facility has returned to the top of the INMO’s daily trolleywatch report.

In total today, 415 people have been left waiting for beds in hospitals across the country.
