There’s been a fresh spike in overcrowding at the region’s main hospital.

Latest figures from the INMO show that there were 76 patients awaiting a bed there this morning; a rise of 10 on yesterday’s figures.

It means that University Hospital Limerick is once again the most overcrowded facility in the country and comes on a week when there have been record-equalling numbers on trolleys there, with an all-time high of 81 hit on Monday.
