Ennis Doctor Reassures Clare Patients About Screening Programmes

Clare patients are being re-assured about the safety of screening programmes.

CervicalCheck, in particular, has come under close scrutiny in the past twelve months, after it emerged 221 women had been in the dark over an audit on their smear test results.

There are also tens of thousands of women still waiting for their CervicalCheck smear-test results, with delays in the system increasing since free tests were offered in the wake of the initial controversy.

Prominent Ennis GP Dr. Maire Finn admits the screening programmes aren’t perfect, but says she has full confidence in them.
