‘Discussions Taking Place’ On Elective Hospital For Midwest

A Clare Government Senator claims ‘discussions are taking place’ regarding the provision of an elective-only hospital for the Midwest region.

It’s after the Government’s Slaintecare Action Plan made no reference to such a facility when it was published yesterday, but did commit to new elective capacity in Dublin, Cork and Galway.

University Hospital Limerick continues to be the most overcrowded hospital in the country, with 95 patients waiting for a bed in Dooradoyle as of yesterday morning according to the INMO.
