Day surgery at Ennis Hospital is cancelled for the third consecutive day due to ongoing overcrowding issues at the region’s main hospital.
University Hospital Limerick has recorded extremely high numbers of patients on trolleys so far this week – with 109 waiting for a bed on Monday, 96 on Tuesday and 102 yesterday.
It comes as HIQA concluded the second day of its unannounced inspection of the Dooradoyle facility yesterday.
