Blood donors in Clare are being asked to help hospitals prepare for increased demand in the coming days.
Supply levels had dropped over the course of the last week prompting the Irish Blood Transfusion Services Board to issue a special appeal.
Donations clinics will run tonight and tomorrow night in Ennistymon.
