A Clare Government TD is calling for a review into the outcome of a report on St Joseph’s Hospital to be carried out and enacted on swiftly.
A report released yesterday detailed how a HIQA inspection carried out in March found that some residents “went a period of months” without a shower due to efforts to contain a COVID-19 spread at the Ennis facility.
That outbreak eventually led to 32 positive cases at the hospital and six deaths.

An external review of St Joseph’s is already underway, while the HSE has apologised to residents and their families.
