The Health Minister claims management at University Hospital Limerick must take an “all-hospital” approach if it’s to end its overcrowding crisis.

Minister Stephen Donnelly was speaking at the Dooradoyle facility yesterday where along with HSE CEO Bernard Gloster, he announced 20 step-down beds will be brought on stream at Cahercalla and Ennis’s MAU will be made a 24/7 service by the end of the year.

Of the five busiest hospitals in the country last year, UHL is the only one seeing an increase in trolley numbers so far in 2024.
