The Health Minister insists additional services are being looked at for Ennis General Hospital.

Simon Harris’ comments come as the UL Hospitals Group dismissed concerns raised over the future of the Medical Assessment Unit at Ennis as a seven-day operation.

It had been feared that a review of the facility would lead to services in the MAU being reduced but hospital management, and now the Minister, insist that’s not the case.

Simon Harris was responding to Clare TD Joe Carey when he expressed hopes that Ennis will be extended.
