Health Minister Reassures Progress Being Made In Recruiting Diabetic Staff At UHL

The Health Minister is reassuring that progress is being made in recruiting staff for diabetic services at University Hospital Limerick.

There are currently 663 people with diabetes in Clare and Limerick, who are waiting on a first appointment at the outpatient diabetes clinic at UHL, with half of those waiting two to six years.

At the end of last year, Clare Councillors called on the Health Minister to answer questions on treatment delays and Minister Stephen Donnelly has now responded in writing, saying the need for additional resources is recognised.
