The Health Minister has promised a better, brighter future for University Hospital Limerick.

Minister Simon Harris was responding to Clare’s Independent TD, Dr Michael Harty who has criticized the government for failing to implement the recommendations of the Sláintecare report.

There have been 56 people waiting on trolleys in Dooradoyle on average daily over the past month, which is double the number of the next busiest facility.

Dr Harty, who is the Chair of the Oireachtas Health Committee insists that previous Governments put the cart before the horse by allowing reconfiguration to go ahead and Minister Harris agrees.
