Health Minister issues reassurances over Ennis General

The Health Minister has said there’ll be no more changes to Ennis General Hospital as patient safety concerns have been addressed there.

That’s according to Clare Fine Gael representatives who met with Minister James Reilly last evening to discuss fears for further downgrading at Ennis and other small hospitals in light of the ongoing Roscommon Hospital controversy.

Ennis is one of ten hospitals where the Health Information and Quality Authority has expressed fears for patient safety, but recommendations from their report have been implemented here since 2009.

Local TD Joe Carey says he’s been told those issues are now dealt with
