The Health Minister has again declined to outline a definite time frame for the opening of a new Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick.

It had been expected that the new facility would open by May, after a fitting out process is complete.

However, the HSE’s National Service Plan suggested this may not happen until later in the year and demands have been made for the situation to be clarified.

However, when asked to confirm that the facility would open in May, Minister Harris did not do so.
