The Irish Health Insurance Council is warning that premiums are set to rise by over 30 per-cent by the end of this year on foot of government plans to charge private patients the full cost of using public hospital beds.
The body-which includes the state’s four main insurers- claim just one in three people will have private health cover in a few years.
