Head of Clare Roads Policing Brands Increase In Clare Fatalities A “Worrying Statistic”

The Head of Roads Policing in Clare has branded an increase in road fatalities in this county a “worrying statistic”.

The national spotlight fell on road safety here once again over the weekend, as two people lost their lives in separate road collisions, bringing the overall number of people killed in traffic collisions in Clare so far this year to nine.

This represents a 50% increase on last year’s total of six, while the figure of 163 traffic fatalities recorded nationwide so far this year is already greater than the overall figure for any of the last six years.
