The head of the Clare Garda Division is urging young people in particular to say no to dangerous driving practices.

61 people have now lost their lives on the country’s road so far this year which is 16 more than this time last year.

Clare has seen one road fatality so far in 2024 but driving without insurance and driving under the influence are both down 13% on the same period in 2023, while speeding has seen a 10% fall.
