Clare’s Independent TD is backing the new Judicial Appointments Bill.
Deputy Michael Harty says he favours the legislation, which has been supported by Minister Shane Ross in particular but criticised by Fianna Fáil and the judiciary themselves.
It is expected to pass – Sinn Féin are also backing it.
