Clare’s Independent TD insists a structural and cultural reform of Ireland’s health system is long overdue.

Dr Michael Harty has been challenging the Taoiseach on what he has called a dysfunctional health service, that is failing to deliver timely care to patients.

Leo Varadkar insists there’s a lot of work still to be done but pointed to having the highest ever number of medical staff in the country, along with the addition of 190 beds to the national hospital network since the start of the year.
