Separately, Clare’s Independent TD has expressed disappointment after an Bord Pleanala refused planning permission for a prospective new site for outpatient facilities in Ennis.
Permission was sought for a commercial development on the site of the former Curley’s Furniture building on the Kilrush Road which was to include a medical centre to house the facility.
Dr Michael Harty has described the outpatients facility, which currently operates from the grounds of Ennis General Hospital, as dilapidated and unfit for purpose.
