Clare’s Independent TD is urging the government to come up with a plan for the Moneypoint Power Station in West Clare to ensure its future is viable.
The coal-burning plant is expected to come to the end of its operational life in 2025, with the government following a policy to end this type of electricity creation.

The station is owned by the ESB and now the Environment Minister Richard Bruton is being urged to engage with the semi-state on its future.
