Harty Calling On Taoiseach To Use Rural Ireland To Help Address Housing Problem

Clare’s Independent TD is urging the Taoiseach to look to rural Ireland in a bid to make some headway with the housing crisis.

Dr Michael Harty has proposed a new rural relocation scheme, which would see a whole-government approach to identifying people willing to move to rural areas.

Dr Harty believes it would help the issues of overcrowding in Irish cities, as well as depopulation of smaller towns and villages, and Leo Varadkar has agreed it’s worth developing.
