Fears have been expressed that flood protection works in parts of West Clare won't be completed ahead of the winter.

Clare TD Michael McNamara is calling on the Minister in charge of the OPW to grant permission for the works to be carried out at Doonbeg, Ballynacally and Kildysart.
It was hoped a decision would be made early this month after Minister Simon Harris visited Kildysart in July, witnessing first-hand the devastation caused on farmland there in last year's winter storms.
Deputy Mc Namara believes communities will feel the impact for another year if the work isn't carried out soon.
