The Health Minister’s response to concerns raised about an industrial relations dispute at the region’s main hospital have been likened to ‘an episode of Father Ted’.

Hospital porters at Dooradoyle will engage in a four-hour work stoppage today over the closure of a communal room for staff.

Last ditch efforts by the UL Hospitals Group to divert the demonstration with talks held yesterday failed to see any progress made.

It’s the second work stoppage in recent weeks and Limerick Sinn Féin Senator Paul Gavan has hit out at Simon Harris and his handling of the situation.
