The latest statistics show a COVID-19 incidence rate of 42.9 cases per 100,000 people, which is still less than areas such as Louth (101.9), Donegal (96.7) and Waterford (93.8) where officials are reporting concern about the number of new cases of COVID-19 over recent weeks and days.

Chief Clinical Officer with the HSE Colm Henry admits they are worried about community transmission.
