A Shannon Councillor says there’s growing frustration in the town after planning permission for a new ALDI store was rejected by the local authority.
The retail giant had submitted an updated planning application for the two-story development at Airport Road near the town centre after the Council had sought more information on its previous application.

But Clare County Council has rejected the application, saying it would ‘seriously injure’ the amenities of the local area.
Sinn Féin Councillor Donna McGettigan says people living locally are frustrated at the lack of commerical development in the town.
