A group of activists are protesting outside the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport today, demanding a stop to the US military using Shannon Airport.

The group known as the ‘Raging Grannies’ are calling on Minister Eamonn Ryan to stop authorising what they describe as “the daily transit of weapons through Shannon Airport by the US military”.

They will also make their way to the Department of Foreign Affairs calling for an end to allowing the US military to refuel at Shannon saying it breaches Ireland’s neutral status.
