Green Shoots in West Clare as Live Register Drops

A significant drop in the numbers of people signing on the dole in Clare is being welcomed by local business people. 

In the last year the number of people on the live register in the county has fallen by just under one thousand.

The greatest decline has been recorded in Ennis where almost 700 fewer people are in need of work.

However there's also been movement in the area served by the Kilrush Department of Social protection office where just over 11 hundred people are claiming benefits – that's down from almost 13 hundred people this time last year.
