Green Party Declares Candidate for Clare in Next General Election

Support for Fine Gael is on the rise according to the latest opinion poll.

An Ipsos MRBI survey in today's Irish Times shows it's up five points to 24 per cent.

Sinn Fein is also up 2 points to 24 per cent.

Labour is up one point, while Fianna Fáil and Independents are both down 4.

Meanwhile the Green party has announced it will contest the General Election in Clare. 

The former Government party, which was decimated at the last election, has selected Roisin Garvey as it's candidate for the contest. 

The Inagh native who works with  An Taisces Green Schools Programme says she believes the electorate are – burned out from traditional politics.
