Calls have been made for greater consultation with landowners over plans to create a new greenway along the route of the old West Clare railway.

A 42 kilometre cycle/walkway is planned between Ennis and Lahinch, with some works already underway, and hundreds of landowners have received letters from the local authority in recent weeks ahead of a preliminary survey of the route.

But many landowners have have now raised concerns and there have been suggestions that some could obstruct Council workers as they look to assess the planned route.
