The Clare President of the National Association of General Practitioners says it should be blatantly obvious some medical conditions require an immediate medical card.

Scarriff GP Dr Conor McGee has been reacting to a leaked report from an expert group, which said it's not possible to allocate the cards on the basis of medical conditions.
The government-appointed expert panel was unable to devise suitable criteria, though the Health Minister insists anyone whose card has been re-instated in recent months will have those extended for as long as they need them.
