A Minister of State at the Department of Social Protection says Government supports have been put in place to help build on a 7.8 per cent drop in live register figures in Clare over the past year.
Kevin Humphreys is speaking ahead of Jobs Week which will see seven events focussing on getting people back into employment being held across the county next week.
The Minister with responsibility for Employment Supports admits economic recovery has been slow here in comparison with the east of the country but he insists there's now a concentration on jobs growth in areas including Clare.
Minister Humphreys said a number of supports have been put in place for employers to encourage job creation and he says those schemes are being picked up here.
