A South-East Clare Councillor remains committed to his fight to reinstate cash payments for National Driver Licence Services, despite pushback from government.
Following the January meeting of Clare County Council, the local authority wrote to the Department of Transport, requesting that notes and coins can once again be accepted for transactions at NDLS Centres.
In response, the Department stated that it will not be reversing the decision, due to security and storage risks associated with cash handling.
Cratloe Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat O’Gorman believes the policy affects all consumers, regardless of age.
